Immediate Response and Basic Life Support Training for Cyclist

As cyclists are among the most vulnerable road users, preparedness can make the difference between life and death. With this in mind, Nepal Cycle Society, in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital and supported by Laxmi Cycle Center, successfully conducted a one-day training program titled “Immediate Response and Basic Life Support (BLS)” for cyclists.

The first session of this training series was held on 19th February 2026 at Dhulikhel Hospital.

Program Overview

A total of 34 participants from across Nepal took part in the training. The course was specifically designed to equip non-medical individuals with practical and life-saving emergency response skills that can be applied in real-world cycling incidents.

Key Training Topics Included:

  • Scene safety and risk assessment

  • Adult Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Child Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Choking management

  • Trauma care and injury response

  • Essential immediate emergency care techniques

Through hands-on practice and expert facilitation, participants gained the confidence and knowledge required to respond effectively during medical emergencies on the road.
