Before constructing a new cycle lane, a comprehensive survey is essential to ensure it meets the needs of cyclists and integrates well with existing infrastructure. Here’s a detailed overview of how such a survey is has been conducted:

1. Site Assessment:
   • Existing Conditions: Evaluated the current road layout and condition, traffic patterns, and land use. Looked at factors like road width, road side parking, disturbance and existing infrastructure.
2. Data Collection:
   • Traffic Counts: Measured the current traffic volumes, including the number of cyclists on cycle lane and carriageway.
   • User Surveys: Conduct surveys or interviews with pedestrians and cyclists to gather input on their views towards existing cycle lane, needs, preferences, and concerns.

This survey helped us to know the exiting condition very well and propose a safer and user friendly cycle lane.
